While the music and some of the TV shows may have been memorable, the late 60s were terrible. There were riots, curfews, protests and terrorism (e.g., the Weathermen/Weather Underground). Men coming home from Vietnam were called "baby burners" and spat upon. A couple of good songs won't make up for the real horror of those days. Don't wish you could have been there, be thankful you weren't.
Hi Sam great hub! Love the poem and the gorgeous photos. Voted up.
Sam ... I have one year on ya! lol
You've brought back an era of revolution.
Wonderful talent!
Very ince info. Looks you have put up lots of work in this hub. Good voted up.
Sam my man, you are so spot on. I remem ber it well. it was a blast. Thanks for the ride, dude.
It was a coming of age for me. WOW
I really really loved your poem on 69! Voted up and shared!!!
How fun!!! I was 6 yrs old and don't remember much, but you shared some interesting and exciting blasts from the past!! I do remember watching most of the TV shows. Way to go Sam!!
I don't remember anything about the year, as I was born in 1969. It was one of the most eventful years in recent history, both in good and bad sense. The poem is so special for me that I am going to bookmark it. Voted up and awesome.
Definitely groovy! The poem is wonderful, Sam. You really made the cadence and rhyming work, capturing essences that led me right back in time. Up and beautiful.
Loved this hub, your poetry has such energy! And I enjoyed all of these interesting facts about 1969. Voted up and shared.
Sometimes some of us feel like we are misplaced in time. I think I belong to the 1840s. I'd like to go there. If you'd like to go back to the 1960s, I understand that. It's a passion, a longing, maybe. And maybe, next time around, we'll have our wishes come true. :)
Cool hub!!! I was just a kid in 1969, but I remember it!
A lot of things going-on. I still love the music and the old t.v. shows!!

I wasn't born, yet, but I can appreciate a hub about '69. Nice job. Voted up and across.
Ah, well, history wasn't one of my favorite subjects...that is until AFTER I got out of school and subscribed to the History Channel. LOL
Oh this was interesting! Great job, Sam!
I was born in 1969, and although I grew up in the seventies, I had some exposure to the the late sixties in re-runs on TV and listening to the music on the radio as a child. I agree with you, I'm an old man in a young body as well. Thank you for sharing the insights!
Ah such memories from so long ago. I was 7 years old in 1969 and remember a lot of what you wrote about here. Very interesting sam209.
